I mainly use this when I work from my home desktop to store my laptop and its docking station and free up space on my desk. It's very heavy and durable. Groove width is adjusted from below with the included hex wrench, which is less convenient than a spanner but less likely to break. You may have to play with the width of your laptop as there is a rubberized surface inside that grips your laptop and pulls the stand up a bit if it's too narrow.
