Review on Efficient KEDSUM Folding Hand Truck: Essential Material Handling Solution by Sean Maples

Good as a handcart, not as good as a cart.

I travel to and from Japan quite often and buy pachinko balls for my hobby and I need to take them to the airport as I usually don't have an extra day to wait my luggage. A box of pachinko balls can weigh up to 31 kg and then I have to put a skateboard on it to get to the airport. So consider a loaded load of 70 to 100 pounds. I used a Samsonite luggage trolley, which is well made, but the aluminum tube axles couldn't handle the weight after two trips, and the wheel bearings rounded out the wheels. And there was no easy way to fix it. So I needed a more powerful replacement and looked at the KedSum with the option of using it as both a transport trolley and a hand truck. While the Kedsum weighs 6 pounds (tested on my scale) and is beautifully finished, it is oversized and slightly thicker. And the trolley wheels are on one side and the casters on the other, which is the reason for the extra thickness that makes packing difficult. Which I was willing to work with if it gave me the durability I was looking for. One photo shows a crate of 56-pound balls that lifted easily in handcart mode and rolled smoothly with a slight bend in the handle. The main problem was that when you put pressure on the handle to use it as a dolly, the dolly collapses and pulls on the bottom of the frame and doesn't roll. This is because they rely on a pair of flimsy plastic lugs to lock the handle in place. (see photo) It really should have a more secure locking mechanism or fold differently so the frame doesn't drag at rated load. But if you only need it for the handcart mode, this is a good choice and should work. Fix the locking issue and I would give it 5 stars
