I have no experience with beard care products, but this winter I let my beard grow a bit and decided to get it under control rather than trim it again. I decided to take this beard balm in addition to her beard brush. Regularly using these two together has done 3 things for me. I have less dandruff on my beard, which I noticed especially when wearing ties to work. My beard has softened. I can identify and cut off thin and flyaway hair more easily. The jar is small, only 2 ounces, but I usually use it lighter and only apply once in the morning. I don't do heavy styling, I'm just interested in keeping my beard presentable and under control. I find the smell of cedar to be pleasant, but I don't think everyone will like it. It's very earthy, woody, almost peaty. From the glass the smell is much stronger. I only notice it on the first use and goes away when I get to work. I prefer it like this. I don't feel like it's that thick, just enough for ease of use. I've had no issues with clothes, pillows, jackets etc getting stained from daily use. The product has a yellow tint and the consistency resembles lip balm.
