Review on πŸ’‘ Beams MBN342 Networked Technology 200 Lumens: Revolutionizing Lighting with Smart Connectivity by Russell Robertson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this product, but it has one critical flaw: there is NO way to disable the network.

We all love Mr. Beam, but we especially love network lights. They make us safer in our rural, densely forested area. However, there are times when we would like to disable the network when it keeps turning on and off for various reasons: 1) there are too many deer and raccoons around; 2) outdoor activities after dark; 3) when we go away for a while; and most importantly, when 4) the batteries in a flashlight are depleted, causing the entire network to turn off and on all night. By the way, since there is no low battery indicator on the device, you have to alternately in the dark remove the flashlight from the tree, unscrew and open it, and move the DIP switch to disconnect it from the mains. and then stand very still or move out of range and wait for the lights to go out and stay off (until there is movement), in which case you've found the culprit. Most likely, we have drained a lot of batteries, not knowing that the entire network can turn on and off incorrectly due to a low battery. We always thought it was nocturnal animals, twigs waving, etc. The instructions say the light stays on when the batteries are low. Network lights are characterized by switching on/off the network. Aside from that, Mr. Beam, we had plans to purchase and install many more grid lights, but we're holding off in the hope of finding a means of turning the grid off when we need it. However, we give it 5 stars for the excellent light quality, battery length, staying dry in torrential, heavy rains and all the other benefits it has brought us on our property. The best product of this type that we have ever used. and solar energy has never helped us in the north Manx winters with the sun low and in the woods. Many Thanks.
