The only pad with back and chest protection. I love this shirt. He protects his light in the right places. I play baseball in the 40+ men's league. We get hit often. It still hurt to hit one in the ribs, but no bruises or broken ribs. But our potter, maybe 50-60 miles an hour. Professionals protect in the right places. Does not interfere with hand movements. Cons - feels very sticky when putting on, almost feels like there is glue on the ribbed pads. It's not, but it only seems so. So he's breathing, but he doesn't feel like he's breathing. Hand wash only which is a big plus for me. I'm so busy I have to hand wash this thing, it's such a pain. Almost to the point I just don't wear it anymore. So if you need protection for your back, chest and ribs this is the shirt for you. Once you don't mind washing your hands. If you don't want to hand wash, find something else. I didn't use it in the car. Overall very impressed. My chest size is 36. I wear 38R for costumes. XL was too loose. The big one fits perfectly. It wasn't too tight and felt like my compression shirts. XL just doesn't feel like a compression shirt, more like a loose t-shirt.
