Slightly smaller but my biggest issue is that the soft areas are made up of individual small hexagonal pieces of foam next to each other. You can see it in the photos. (Especially in the bib area.) Worst product I have ever bought from Revain. Bought this for my son just to add a little extra protection under football shoulder pads. After a few days, the hexagons will peel off. Yes, the hexagon pack consists of several individual parts. They appear to be individually glued and then sewn on. Bought for jiu-jitsu to protect ribs after intercostal sprain. The good, right way is that it's comfortable, breathable, and offers decent protection in soft spots. The bad news, however, is that the soft areas are too low to actually protect the chest. The pads mainly cover the floating ribs but do not protect the sides of the ribs that touch the sternum. I bought this after playing hockey many times scratching my stomach/rib area, looked like a rash and was sore for days. This was the lightest pad I could find and does the job perfectly. I'm 5ft 7" - 5ft 8" and about 140/145 pounds so I usually wear a small shirt but based on the reviews I went for a medium one. You can see from the attached image how the environment fits my build.
