Review on ๐Ÿˆ TUOY Men's Padded Compression Shirt - Protective Rib Chest Protector for Football, Paintball, Baseball by James Mayberry

Decent while it lasts

Bought for jiu-jitsu to protect ribs after intercostal sprain. The good, right way is that it's comfortable, breathable, and offers decent protection in soft spots. The bad news, however, is that the soft areas are too low to actually protect the chest. The pads mainly cover the floating ribs but do not protect the sides of the ribs that touch the sternum. Also, the soft section falls apart after less than two months of use. The pads themselves aren't solid sheets of foam, but rather a series of small, tiled blocks of foam. The benefit of this is that they breathe well, flex and conform to the shape of the body, but the problem is that they tend to fold and bunch up when a block slips. Instead of creating a homogeneous protective barrier, this creates a lumpy, unstable mass that simply bites its ribs. Completely counterproductive. It looks like it's designed to last long enough to miss the return window. For almost $40 I didn't justify my money.
