Due to the measurements we have XS. It is perfect for our 8.5lb Chihuahua. Its traps are adjustable with Velcro and then with clips. We use it to take them on kayak trips and when we swim in the local river. She's not the most active swimmer, but she always wants to be close, so I have no doubt that she'll stay afloat. I like the handle on the back so I can lift it out of the water if needed. In general very satisfied.
