More form than function

Bottom line: chairs with backs are impractical for bar-height seating unless your bar has a footrest to recline on. Complaints: 1) Gas tanks shrink up to 2 inches when seated. So the actual max height is 2 inches less than advertised (I'm 6ft 3in, 185ft) 2) The backrest is basically pointless. It leans back so it feels like you're doing an Olympic freestyle pose when you lean against it with your legs drawn up. This is at bar height when your feet can't touch the floor. In the lowered position, you can stretch your legs on the floor and lean backwards (bend over) if you wish.3) The backrest of the seat interferes with rotation. With a regular dining chair, you sit down and then use your feet to move the chair closer to the dining position. It's impossible to lean forward with a crossbar chair, so the idea is to climb over the backrest like a traditional chair, or turn on the spot. However, when pushed close enough for a meal, the seatback doesn't allow for much rotation. Basically, it's very uncomfortable to get in and out of them when they're close enough to eat. 4) The useless back of the seat prevents you from sliding the stool all the way under the bar counter. You can lower the seat and then slide it under you, but constantly adjusting the height isn't very convenient. a short leg. For my needs, 3 stars is generous. These chairs look good, are easy to assemble, are probably more comfortable for shorter people, and are inexpensive. Unfortunately the cheap ones are still a waste of money because I have to buy back the more practical traditional stools.
