Review on Satawell Traction Friction Abrasive Waterproof by Brent Henderson

Sticks very well to composite decking

I bought this tape to stick to the ramps of composite decking that I have on both sides of the deck. I knew that tape should ideally be applied to a smooth surface, which is not the case with composite decking. However, this tape seems to be getting good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I also bought a roller specifically designed for applying grip tape. I taped the two deck ramps on a day where they were in the sun most of the day so the boards were hot. I thought this might help the glue stick better to uneven surfaces. Later that night we suddenly had heavy rain. If I had known it was going to rain I wouldn't have put the tape on earlier in the day. The next morning I went out and squeezed the band with my foot and it wouldn't budge. Later that day I went to the local hardware store and bought lots of gravel. I made about a dozen trips with a wheelbarrow full of heavy gravel up both ramps and the tape stayed in place. made from the same decking composite material. However, I ran out of tape on the roll to build a barn ramp and I wanted to see how the tape held up over the course of a few weeks before purchasing a second roll. After several heavy rains and heavy loads, the tape stayed in place. So I decided to order a second roll so I could make a barn ramp. However, that brand of band was not available at the time and it was said that it was not known when it would be available again. So I bought another brand of tape that got a 4.5 star rating on this site and taped it to the barn ramp last Sunday. The ramp was in the sun most of the day and the boards were hot. I also have enough Satawell tape left over to tape two strips to the barn ramp. The next night we had very heavy rain. The next day I pulled my lawn tractor out of the barn to mow the lawn and pulled all the strips of another brand of duct tape out of the ramp. However, two strips of Satawell remained in place. Using a roller, I pushed the pieces of tape back into place, hoping the hot sun would melt the adhesive enough to stick to the ramp while I mowed the lawn. Two hours later, when I pulled up to the ramp to put the mower in the shed, all the other strips of tape were back in place. However, the two signature Satawell strips remained in place.
