After receiving a $6,000 offer to rebuild my front step due to 15 broken bricks, I decided to try a cheap repair and knock out the old bricks. This proved to be nearly impossible with hand chisels. I bought it because it was one of the cheapest demo hammers and it came with a drill and chisel. Just drilled some big holes in the bricks and a hammer and chisel did the rest. Much better than expected. It should be noted that the cartridge is spring-loaded. The hammering feature requires a minimal amount of force to be applied to the operating feature to activate the hammering feature. I suspect the few people who said the hammer didn't work never put the tool on the surface. I was stunned at how quickly everything was cut. Everything indicates that this is a very well made instrument. I will never spend enough hours testing its durability. It would be nice to be able to adjust the rotation orientation of the bit without having to go into drill mode, and just press the power button to randomly rotate the bit so that it stops in the desired orientation. I don't think there is any other way to set the bit angle. Nothing major but a small annoyance. It worked better than I imagined. I am very comfortable!
