The extension tube itself seems fine. It comes with two adapter sleeves, one of which fits a typical 1/4" tripod mounting screw into a 3/8" mounting hole. The mounting adapter that came with my extension tube was defective, rendering the whole thing unusable. I only found out about this after Revane's return period had expired, so I figured I was unlucky. So my first tip is to set the handset when you receive it to make sure everything is fine. But I contacted the seller (John from OECcamera.com) through Revain and he sent me the correct part straight away. It should be a special variant of such an adapter, without the protrusion that most of them have and a little longer than many; John may have had to disassemble another extension tube in his inventory to find it. It's exactly the kind of excellent service an online shopper hopes they'll never need, but it reminds us that there are some good people at some of the companies that sell through Revain. OECcamera truly stands behind the products they sell. So my second piece of advice is this: if you're considering buying this extension (and it's a good choice), I recommend getting one from OECcamera.
