Review on Super Antenna MP1DXTR80 SuperWhip Amateur by Prentice Martin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good compact antenna without customer support.

A good antenna kit if you are short on space. This is a compromise antenna so don't expect dipole performance. Also, a small guide card for setting the coil will help you get closer to where it needs to be. If you want correct SWR, you need at least an antenna analyzer or SWR meter. Remember that the lower the bandwidth, the narrower the bandwidth. With this device you get the full bandwidth at 80M without any adjustments when changing frequencies. There are many things that can affect the correct position of the spool, especially in the lower ranges. Reception is very good and TX is within range for such a small device. Probably better for data than by phone. If you need assistance, the only way to contact them is via slow email, even though their page says "Fast Customer Support: Email Please". It took me three weeks via email to get a replacement for the defective part in less than 100 miles but it finally arrived. Very bad connection. When they ship a part, they won't tell you and it takes them a few days to respond to your quick customer support emails. Customer support could certainly be better, but this is a well-made product. Unfortunately, this is a trend in American companies. Hide behind a wall of emails, don't offer phone support, and take forever to reply to messages that are missing or completely inaccurate. I used to work behind that wall so I have both support and experience working with clients.
