Review on VCUTECH Mini 2 Battery Charging Hub for DJI Mini 2 and Mavic Mini, Drone Accessory, Two-Way Charging Hub, Battery Charger, Mini 2 Accessory (Cable and Battery Not Included) by James Richardson

Incomprehensible instructions and poor quality product

At first the charger seemed perfect. It's small (just over two Mini 2 batteries). When I tried to use it, I found that I didn't have enough information. First, it comes without a power cord. I know it was mentioned somewhere that the reason for this is that the USB power cable comes with the DJI Mini 2. While it is true that the drone comes with a USB cable, using it to charge the batteries precludes using it to charge the remote control at the same time. . In all my years of experience with chargers for drones, cameras, etc., I have never encountered a charger that does not have a plug with a matching USB plug for connection and a USB-A plug for connection. to the charging source + 5V. The next problem I had was with the miniature "manual" that comes with the charger. It's too small for me to read without a magnifying glass and it doesn't contain any useful information. It shows cartoonish images of the LEDs (as they should be on the charger) but the images don't make any sense. The "Full Power" and "Low Power" images are identical. Also, the figure shows that the LEDs are oriented vertically, while on the actual charger they are oriented horizontally. The device has both blue and red LEDs and they may mean something, but the "instruction manual" doesn't tell you what they mean. Since the batteries only fit into the charger one way, installation wasn't a mental issue. At the moment I have both batteries in the charger and the charger is connected to the Apple iPad power supply. The blue LED in front of each battery lit up, but I have no idea what that means. Also in the "manual”, under the LED disinformation, there are two charging circuits. One (left) is labeled "Charging Guide" and shows what appears to be a phone, a USB-A connector, and a USB cable. Thinking about it, I assume this should mean you can charge the phone while the batteries are being charged? However, this is just a guess and I wouldn't dare plug my $1,000 phone into this USB-A port. The diagram on the right is labeled "Input Charging". It shows the USB-C port on the charger, the USB cable, and the charger plug adapter. I assume this is a way to connect the charger to charge the batteries. There is also a button on one side of the charger. Nowhere does it say what the button does. Also, Revain's product description is somewhat misleading as it suggests that the company selling it is based in Redmond, Washington and that the product is manufactured by them. As one can guess, especially if you look at the obviously "non-English" translation to English in the "manual", the thing is made in China, not the US. Finally, I would be suspicious of the positive product reviews you read in Revain reviews. Inside the box is a card that the seller put in there asking for an "objective and acceptable (my CAPS)" rating. Upon receiving such feedback, the seller will provide a $10 gift card to be used with PayPal. I don't know about anyone else, but $10 can't buy my honesty. This crap will most likely come back to Revain because I have little faith that it will work as advertised (or not advertised what it actually does). Buy this charger at your own risk.
