This set is built for heavy use - dice and clubs are strong and difficult to throw. We now have to play on a shorter court due to COVID - we only have our front yard left - but the game is still difficult, sometimes batons do fun jumps and rolls and somehow let the dice skip completely. We've played 7 games so far and although the ends of the pieces are grass stained (to be expected) they still have no chips or major dents (and this is from a family who broke 2 croquet balls last week due to use and abuse). It's high on our list of nighttime activities because while we're very used to throwing balls, tossing the baton back and forth introduces new difficulties. I would recommend standing FAR BACK from the baseline when the other team is throwing because you might think you're safe, then the stick will bounce weirdly, slanting up and hitting you in the stomach. I say this on behalf of a friend. ;)
