Lid fits matching bucket but is loose enough to allow gases from rising bread to escape without tearing lid off. Together with the bucket component, this lid makes the perfect dough bucket for no-knead bread (check out KingArthurFlour.com for great recipes). I really like the lemon yellow color; it has no gold at all. The bucket's round shape is ideal for kneading bread dough - it has no corners like a rectangular design. I can't wait to bake no knee bread. The bucket is also available here at Revain but takes a few minutes in the sink with a marker - fill to 1 liter and mark; Then repeat adding liters until full. These marks make it much easier to tell when the dough has doubled in size. I have always been satisfied with Rubbermaid products and there are certainly no exceptions.
