Red looks more pink. But since there's still blue on the back, I'd say they're gender neutral. I have shown "red" crockery in front of a real red plastic plate in the photo. I assume they will fade with washing so the "pink" is more visible. Hand wash only, of course. Very cute and good size for 18 to 36 months. I bought these in hopes that my 20 month old would be less likely to throw dishes on the floor. But he still threw them away after 5 minutes and then yelled to get them back because he loves Mickey. And threw them 3 more times. Still, I would recommend it to all Disney fans.
