I have this adapter so I can connect an external microphone to my iPhone X when it is attached to a gimbal that supports the Lightning port blocked. The Holafoto adapter connects well and fits when using a stabilizer (Zhiyun Smooth 4). And the charging end of the adapter works well. But my need for an audio port doesn't seem to be supported. I need to connect a Zoom F8 portable recorder via USB so I can use an external XLR mic (connected to Zoom) as the mic source. I have an Apple Lightning to USB adapter. This works for the Zoom connection when plugged directly into the iPhone's Lightning connector. But when the Lightning to USB connector is connected to the HoloFoto adapter, apps don't show Zoom as a microphone source. I believe the note in the seller's description that says "computer data connection is not supported" might give a clue. It seems that the opposite is true - a data connection (or a USB connection) from an external source is not recognized by the iPhone when using the HolaFoto adapter. However, I will leave it for charging and audio monitoring via headphones. But unfortunately this was not my main goal or reason for the purchase.
