Bought to entertain my 4 year old son. There are many ideas in this box and my kid who loves bright colors and crafts but finds it hard to sit for a long time always enjoys the activities and the end results! In the companion booklet, each task is marked as easy, medium, or hard, which is very helpful. It helps me decide which craft to choose based on the time we have. In my experience, simple crafts take less than 5 minutes. The "Easy" activities are VERY easy and I can see that the average 6 year old (whom this kit is recommended for) might not have much fun doing them. My kid doesn't have the talent to do some of them. medium sized classes only but I bought this kit with full intention of doing projects together. I don't think I've tried many of the really difficult ones yet. The DIY materials included in the kit are bright, good quality, and sufficient. Was it possible to buy materials in bulk cheaper? Probably! Can I google the projects myself? Definitive! But then I need extra space in the house to store numerous items and then create motivation to hunt on Pinterest. I prefer to buy a set because everything I need is in one neat box and there is no need to store extra items after projects are completed. In theory. I've only made 7 crafts so far so I'm not sure I'll have much left, but for now it seems like I've ONLY had enough. Overall I'm very happy with the set, with few complaints. .1) The words and pictures in the instruction are so small. It's hard for my 40 year old eyes to read. And because the illustrations are also small, you might miss an important detailed guide. Speaking of eyes, some of the included eyes are SMALL! Try not to lose her. 2) To be honest, that cornea may be from the same part of my brain that believes I can find a better driving route than the one my GPS app is suggesting. There is one project in particular. (Abacus) where I felt the instructions should be written in a different order, so I tweaked it a bit. Most directions don't work. TIP: I have used ziplock bags to replace some of the cheap non-resealable plastic bags that the items were originally kept in. I try to prevent items from spilling all over the box.
