If you are new to wet shaving then the probe set is definitely for you.

I'm new to wet shaving but everyone seems to agree that every face is different and you need to find the razor and blade combination that works best for you. I prefer a sharper blade on my wiry beard, but many prefer a smoother blade. Blades vary in metal composition (stainless steel, platinum, chrome) which affects not only edge quality but also corrosion resistance, and many are coated e.g. B. with Teflon. So far I've only tried Astra and Gillette 7 O'Clock from this sampler. I really liked Astra which gave me an incredibly close shave without irritation. The blades at 7 o'clock are fairly sharp and flexible and they gave me a pretty good shave but some irritation if I'm not very careful. They look like regular Israeli blades that I buy at the Navy Exchange for $1.49 a pack of ten. I used to try the expensive German ice-hardened Teflon-coated stainless steel blades that came with my Van Der Hagen safety razor. Love the razor - hate the blade! If you just read the reviews here you will find that some people think the Shark DE blades are fantastic while other reviewers say they are the worst they have ever tried. The same since 7 a.m. A plus. That's why such a sampler set is just right for you. Your face is important and if you find that a particular blade isn't giving you a good shave, don't use it! Give them away or throw them away. Remember, you're only paying about 22 cents per blade - they're insanely cheap compared to disposable and cartridge blades at the drugstore or supermarket. So in my assortment were 15 Shark Super Chromium blades made in Egypt; 15 Russian Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge (yellow); 15 Russian Astra Superior Platinum; 15 Durablade 7 on the Plus Hi Platinum (the packaging says "Swiss Quality" but they are actually made in Bangladesh by Samah Razor Blade); 20 Durablade Sharp Hi Chromium (Bangladesh); 15 Russian Vashkod Teflon; and 10 Israeli-made Crystal Double Edge in stainless steel with platinum. Keep in mind that none of the blades come in a box with a waste compartment, so you'll need some sort of container for your used blades. Crystal blades come in a plastic dispenser containing ten blades. Sharp Hi Chromium is packaged in a plain box of 10 blades wrapped in wax paper. The rest comes in 5-sheet tucks. (For some reason my review was removed so I'm reposting it)
