Still have full lifetime warranty

Craftsman CMMT12072 Metric Wrench Set are now made in China for Stanley Black & Decker but the keys are still covered by the full lifetime warranty as they were before Sears sold the brand. This set contains 7 combination wrenches (with a flat open end and a 12-point cap end 15 degrees from horizontal) in sizes 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 19mm and a red plastic carrier. storage compartment. These new wrenches are slightly heavier than the US forged versions with the same part numbers that I bought years ago. For example, my old 12mm wrench #42916 weighs 61.2 grams versus 80.5 grams for the new 12mm wrench #42916 (the new 31.5% heavier) and my old 13mm wrench #42916 weighs 80.5 grams 42917 weighs 74.5 grams versus 91.0 grams for a new 13mm wrench. #42917 (new 22% heavier). I have no idea when the design actually changed as it has been many years since I bought new keys. With this set I had a bit of trouble getting the wrenches out of the red storage compartment, but I eventually found that the retaining strips basically 'unzip' from the end near the handle of the compartment and the strips to the back, pull the handle up and away. . act. These shipping strips are probably not intended to be reinstalled once removed. I also broke one of the small retaining tabs the first time I took one of the wrenches out of the socket; The trick is to twist the key forward and out from under the ledges before pulling it up. Luckily, the shell still holds the key securely even if one of the small tabs has broken off. I can keep the red tray for now, but in the long run I'll probably move my new wrenches to a toolbox or toolbox drawer. With proper care, these keys will easily last a lifetime. (To prevent rust on my metal tools, I spray them with WD-40 and wipe them down after each use.)
