They are mechanically superior to the Chinese magnifying reading glasses I've tried. The battery covers can be easily opened with a fingernail and remain attached to the ear cups when changing the battery. Although other size batteries are "commonly purchased" with these goggles, the original factory set battery size is CR1620. Although I searched the entire Phillips Safety Products Inc. website, I could not find any mention of this product. I've looked through half a dozen cheap Chinese glasses that have battery compartments that are difficult to open and close. Additional manipulations with lighting devices led to the fact that some of them failed, and once the earpiece broke. I find them far superior to the other devices I've ordered for my disabled sister, along with enough spare batteries to last them a while. Important for changing batteries: Two batteries are required for both lights. These are four CR1620 batteries to fully charge both lights on the goggles. The description incorrectly states that two are required.
