The best I've seen on the market so far!

They are mechanically superior to the Chinese magnifying reading glasses I've tried. The battery covers can be easily opened with a fingernail and remain attached to the ear cups when changing the battery. Although other size batteries are "commonly purchased" with these goggles, the original factory set battery size is CR1620. Although I searched the entire Phillips Safety Products Inc. website, I could not find any mention of this product. I've looked through half a dozen cheap Chinese…

Pros
  • With these reading glasses you can read in bed without disturbing anyone.
Cons
  • Obsolete

When I bought these glasses, they just didn't fit me. After cataract surgery, I found that I needed more light to read than before (although I have a Kindle, sometimes I just feel like reading a paper book). My lens implants are designed for both near and distance vision, so reading glasses are not required and in fact do not work at all. I then tried different reading lights at night, but none worked. I first bought a couple of headlamps but the focus of the light was too narrow and I found…

Pros
  • Do not turn on the "Book Light" while reading.
Cons
  • unreliable

Don't waste your money

I bought these after realizing the batteries I needed for my Foster Grant backlit readers would cost more than new glasses. They looked similar but were cheaper (but not cheap enough to be a red flag) so I gave them a try. They're ridiculously narrow, with lenses, as the brand's only "feminine" style. I don't understand why no other shape is suggested, but I'm quite petite so male readers, although wider, tend to be huge to me. I got them hoping I could live with that, and if you don't mind…

Pros
  • Ideal for a la carte orders in dark restaurants.
Cons
  • Expensive
