Works with a Dometic/Atwood RV water heater

My caravan, a Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS, came with a Dometic/Atwood water heater. The design of the water heater is really inconvenient in that at the end of the season it is very difficult to access the drain plug to remove water from the tank. The 15/16" drain plug will be blocked by other associated hardware, preventing traditional wrenches from accessing the bolt. Even with this wrench, it was difficult to turn the screw at first. The angled design allowed me to reach the screw, but at first I could only rotate the connector a few degrees. I figured I would have to do a lot of micro turns to unscrew the connector, but I found that by turning the wrench even more so that the bottom of the wrench was on the back of the connector and placed at the top on the outside I could use the wrench get through the main obstacle and get the plug out quicker, albeit fairly cheaply. So when my OEM plug wears out I will almost certainly buy one separately The teflon thread tape is a nice touch, it helps prevent leakage after the plug is reinserted into the spring but make sure you keep it in the the correct direction around the threads so that the end of the tape does not unwind when the cork is screwed in in the direction of rotation.
