Professionally engaged in plumbing work. I bought and installed this unit for a friend because it was a lot cheaper than the ones I had previously installed at my home and for other customers and it was popular with Revain. Very disappointed. The filter housings and cartridges are fine, but the mounting tubes and fittings are terrible, a quick connector was clearly defective and small gaskets were missing from the packaging. I eventually got it working, but it required some hacking, a visit to my plumbing company, and extra expense. I threw away the cheap plastic check valve and used a brass needle valve. I will be replacing the cartridges sooner than usual because I don't trust the cheap ones that come with them and will use better quality cartridges with fine mud and carbon block. Fine sediment cartridge for the first filter and for the last filter Matrikx PB1.5 micron activated carbon block cartridge for the reduction of chlorine, lead, VOCs, chloramine and cysts. My clients and I have been using them successfully for rural drinking water systems from wells and springs for over 15 years and have never had a water quality issue or a failed water test. Note: I usually use a 5 micron pre-filter for the whole house. All of these cartridges are available from Revain.
