These Corelle plates are not chip resistant. I received a plate that broke off on the side. (Well I'm too lazy to return it.) I have original Corelle set plates and they are lighter. I've had them for 5 years now and use them every day and they still look brand new. I've been looking for the same 9" square Corelle plates to serve my guests, so I won't be using paper plates. I hope this is the same from Revain but they are not the same. If you fold the $17 Corelle plates, you'll find it annoying. They are slightly heavier than the original Corelle spall plates. Please change the item description, these $17 Corelle plates are not chip resistant at all. These are ordinary plates, like in a dollar store. If you're looking for quality inserts, just get the Corelle set inserts (chip resistant, the most expensive). You get what you pay for.
