I love this replacement for our medium sized plates. They contrast beautifully with the round flat style; great for use with chopsticks as they are a cross between a plate and a bowl - nice raised edges that don't look too much like a bowl. Have Corelle's beautiful, simple style, so easy to handle and wash - Corelle is the easiest to clean tableware in the universe! I've been using this brand ever since. . . (!) 1974. . . . . . . yes the same. Now they are retreating, being left in large crowds

I needed several plates but didn't want to take a whole set with me. I can buy matching bowls later, but I definitely didn't need the cups. As you can see from my photos they are thin and yes, light. The only other Corelle products I have are their cookware and it's very heavy which I really like, it feels like you're cooking something substantial. These Corelle plates are not chip resistant. I received a plate that broke off on the side. (Well I'm too lazy to return it.) I have original Corelle set plates and they are lighter. I've had them for 5 years now and use them every day and they still look brand new. I've been looking for the same 9" square Corelle plates to serve my guests, so I won't be using paper plates.
