I haven't had a pair of alts that I didn't like! They have an "e-vent" layer (like Gore-Tex)! Keeps my feet dry! Swap the insole for Xstance for more comfort. Yes, these versions of the Lone Peak Altra are available for $170 a pair! And after a few of those, it's probably worth it! But way out of my budget! Revan to the rescue! Bought the burgundy version too! The deal was to buy Burgundy Altras for $109. And use the rewards to get this gray pair for $32! Some kind of doppelganger! My son runs regularly, he's run a few marathons. He told me about Altras. Now I have these backpackers, some cropped summer Altras, and other Altras. Absolutely the best of its kind! And I have Hawkas and Nike. Altra with Xstance is like walking on clouds! Did an 8 mile hike/walk on a paved bike path a few days ago. Usually a pound out of 5 on a good day. And at 74, that's not bad. It doesn't work without Atras and Xstance!
