I bought my iFP-880 (128MB version) from iRiver about a year and a half ago, around the time it came out. There are many, many good things to say about this cause. First I bought it because of its sound properties. While I expected great sound, it exceeded my expectations. There was NO fuzz on my $120 Sennheiser headphones (playing a song at 320 bps), and my custom EQ settings worked flawlessly. I was able to hear things through this MP3 player that I can't hear from my computer. 11 out of 10 points for the sound. There's so much in this thing. The FM/AM radio sounds better than my car radio, but it breaks a bit when moved quickly. The line-in can be set to custom bitrates for better storage capacity or quality, which is great for getting a song your friend has and you don't. The voice recorder works well but is admittedly a bit awkward to reach. But it sounds great, at least it's high quality. The boxed headphones are impressive, better than any headphones I've heard. When I bought the iRiver I thought it was tiny, but then again, MP3 players are getting so small they don't seem tiny anymore. Of course, this is not a burden on the pocket. About two months ago, the headphone jack started shaking (yes, I'll admit it) due to mishandling. Right now I have no sound in my left ear. Annoyed, I emailed iRiver with my complaint. They made a special account for me, I stuck to it, now they're sending me a BRAND NEW account. IS FREE. All the wrangling I had with build quality flew to the wind. Again, these things happen when you buy a brand new product. I doubt they would let the problem persist. In general, this little thing is amazing. I bought it for $125 thinking it was a good deal - believe me you will NOT be disappointed, especially for $80. The ONLY thing I could recommend is that you need a bit more memory, 128MB just didn't do the trick for me.
