Several reasons why not 5 stars

There are several reasons why this review does not get 5 stars. This was my first waste disposal setup - I'm 63, Nana - and it was pretty easy (I watched a few videos on You Tube beforehand) except that I had time with the rubber o-ring. The photo did not show how to install it. After about half an hour of struggle I went to YouTube and found a video for this particular model. After looking at it, it wasn't difficult to install. I tried to put it in space but it went out of space. Another…

Just a EZ to fit into slides and parts

I have an old InSinkErator FWD-1 and it started leaking from the bottom. Did some research and wanted to get the Badger 1 from Home Deport but didn't take it to the store and had to wait 5 days for delivery. The only model they had in store was $84, was reviewed at Revain, and the Waste King L-111 had great reviews, it was on youtube, people only said good things about it. Ordered it here, same day delivery (Saturday), paid over $9 and it was still cheaper than Home Depot. Installation was a…

Works fine until it runs out.

Our garbage chute (same model) worked for a year and a half before it failed (started leaking from the bottom). It has a 2 year warranty so I called Waste King and they asked me to look for the model number on it (it's still attached to the sink btw) so I examine it and see the serial number sticker. I don't think I see the model number anyway. The customer service rep sits on the phone without saying a word while I search and update him. Finally I say I don't see the model number but I can…

Good product very easy install

I have never installed a garbage chute but as it was the same model I used to hire a plumber to install I read it would be easy to replace - and it is true. Although the manual is large, well-illustrated, and detailed, I was happy to find another buyer's YouTube video that offered important advice that I might otherwise have missed - let it hang and don't try to overdo it to stick. (He said it took him an hour before he figured it out.) It's basically pre-assembled and I was able to leave the…

Problems in obtaining a metal ring for fishing.

I'm probably the only one having trouble installing it. I needed to replace a leaking insinkerator that had damaged my sink cabinet quite a bit so I wanted to use a different brand as reviews show this to be a common problem with Badgers. I had trouble installing the rubber pad properly. I thought so, but the metal ring never went down far enough to hook the two prongs at the top of the container. An hour after the third attempt to mount the gasket, I noticed that the metal ring had sunk much…

Much cheaper, lighter, thinner and easier to install

I had a Badger or Ace equivalent that got stuck. I disassembled it to clear the jam and when I put it back together it was leaking. Even after I took it apart and put it back together. There was so much trouble getting it lined up and connected properly, especially since I have a tight space and no clearance for a drain connector and my other drain pipes are stuck together for some reason. I didn't feel like doing it when I found this Waste King on Revane for the third time. That's about half…

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Upgradeable

It arrived quickly, was easy to install and seems to work well. However, as you can see from the photos, we have two problems with the flange (the metal ring that sits at the bottom of the sink) that made us give it only 3 stars: First, it is positioned higher than our previous one. Flange due to the underlying rubber gasket. This results in some water remaining at the bottom of the sink instead of being completely drained as was the case with our insinkerator drain/flange previously. Each time

Very easy to install, quiet, compact corded waste chute!

WOW! I am very impressed with the Waste King L-111 refuse shredder. My old slide was some kind of generic brand that came with the house. As you can see from the photos below it is in a trash can. First of all I have to thank Waste King for making the slide so easy to install. I actually made the mistake of not applying enough putty around the drain and some water spilled out during the test run, but I was able to quickly remove the slide and reseal the drain within 5 minutes! Anyone can…
