Review on πŸ—‘οΈ Waste King L-111 Garbage Disposal Recycling Unit with Built-in Power Cord, 1/3 Horsepower by Aaron Parish

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much cheaper, lighter, thinner and easier to install

I had a Badger or Ace equivalent that got stuck. I disassembled it to clear the jam and when I put it back together it was leaking. Even after I took it apart and put it back together. There was so much trouble getting it lined up and connected properly, especially since I have a tight space and no clearance for a drain connector and my other drain pipes are stuck together for some reason. I didn't feel like doing it when I found this Waste King on Revane for the third time. That's about half the cost of a Badger replacement, lighter, thinner, and comes with an attached cable. I took out the old one, examined the new one, and looked at the instructions. This is logical and easy to understand. I have a composite sink and my plumber dried out so I used silicone to seal the drain ring like a lot of people do these days. The whole thing snapped together easily, much easier than the old badger three ring style, and snapped into place. It fits my drain line and dishwasher hose snugly and works great. The only reason for 4 stars is that there is no room for an Allen wrench to unclog. You have to get in from the top, but at least the fender is removable, so it's not that difficult. Alternatively, you can buy a tool from Home Depot that comes with a handle on top that you can rotate, so you don't have to use a wooden dowel. A hex hole would have been easy to add and I have no idea why they left it out.
