It will be quite easy to quickly create a bun with it. First my 7 year old hair which is pretty good. I would use a bobby pin or bow to hold the two "open" ends of her bun together. Mine probably needs the same thing. And if given a choice I would choose a darker color of the product just for more camouflage. I don't think she would make it upside down, especially with the dropout layers.
