I usually buy UV lamps for scorpion hunting. (Scorpions fluoresce in the ultraviolet, so they're easy to see at night.) But that's my Halloween buy. The world looks very different in ultraviolet light. The first thing that struck me upon unpacking is that this lamp is heavy. He makes a very durable impression. As it runs on house electricity (not batteries) it is not very good for hunting scorpions BUT this UV light is very powerful. I have a room in my house that I call the ballroom. This room is 30 feet long and this light placed at the other end illuminates the entire room. I plan to use it to light up a Halloween display. I expect it to be great and use it for many Halloweens.
