As a professional AV installer, I have tested quite a few speakers. The highest and consumer class. These speakers have become my go-to outdoor speaker for almost any situation where the price allows. I've also had the pleasure of replacing these other blown outdoor speakers, some of which are much more expensive. Every time the customer is satisfied and ends up happier with them than before. They sound, look, weather etc. beautifully. The passive bass radiator, which is sort of a Def Tech tradition, really makes a surprising difference. I've replaced two sets of Bose Freespace outdoor speakers in two completely different locations with these $300 each I can add and they sound cleaner, fuller and last longer. I've just never been a fan of using a tiny single speaker to try and get full range. Chances are you're using fancy Bose technology (aka plastic tubing) or not. I also compared to some big gusts (don't remember the model). These were even better. Well, if you really want to try, take 6500 and you will be golden. If you are looking for good full range floorstanding speakers this is the best value for money I have found.
