This comforter is a lot softer than I expected. It's deceptively light, yet fluffy and surprisingly warm. I used a plush throw or two over a comforter over a heavy microfiber comforter and figured I needed a heavier comforter to replace it. When I received this comforter, I thought it would be thin enough to keep me warm, mostly because it felt so light and airy compared to all those comforters and comforters. I've been using it for about a month with just a light cotton duvet cover and I have to say it's very *warm*. In fact, I now sleep with an open window (Northern California near the coast so nights are humid and 50-60 degrees) and a pair of limbs sticking out of the sheets. I don't sweat like my quilt/thread sometimes, but I do get overheated on warm nights. feels so luxurious and I sleep a lot better especially on cold nights when I can snuggle up against this soft blanket.
