I spent a few months looking for cameras that I thought would be an inexpensive upgrade for my Nikon D60. I must have tested many cameras in the shop but found the features of the D5300 to be a good match for what I do. I'm not a professional photographer at all and wouldn't even consider myself an enthusiast, but here are my observations from a layman. D60. You'll notice it especially in low light conditions. I mainly shoot in low light conditions, e.g. B. at dinners and restaurants where the atmosphere is generally romantic. I don't have anything quite like it other than my D60 but the colors seem a lot brighter and the addition of a Liveview screen is a good thing. I wanted to use this for videos too, but I've yet to really start making high quality videos. I have a camcorder that seems to be much more reliable when it comes to focus and pan speeds. That being said, I have very limited knowledge of using this device as a camcorder and I'm sure I'll get better at it with more use. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
