I had an old 27" 1080p monitor that looked ok on my Dell PC but with my MBP - 13" like crap. So I decided it was time for a 4K monitor. Originally bought a Lenovo Qreator 27" but heard about USB-C charging issues requiring a firmware update. However, to install the firmware you need a USB-C Windows PC. I don't have a Win PC with USB C. I asked the BB Geek Squad guy what he recommends and he said "I'd return it." So I did. Then I heard that LG makes LCD panels for Apple monitors. So I chose LG. I'm not a graphic designer, but the color reproduction on this monitor is exceptional. Most of the time I use 1080p from MBP, but the screen sharpness of a 4K monitor outperforms my 1080p monitor. I connect via USB C and it's nice to have one cable for power, video and audio. One disappointment are the 1 amp USB-A ports. Uses a Qi wireless charger and the port is down. I also had an issue with the Onscreen Control app on my MBP. I heard about problems with M1, do I need a new software version (TBC)? Either way, if you can get it on sale, it's a good monitor for most people. Or can you buy an Apple Studio display for 3 times the price?
