Perfect Replacement for Norton 271N Hot Surface Ignitor

My York furnace stopped firing (right as the weather is getting colder of course), and I diagnosed it was the Igniter that had failed. I went to a few stores by me, big box and local, but they were all quoting a 5 day shipping time as nothing was in-stock. I found this replacement part for a fair price and 2 day shipping.Glad I tried this, as it arrived in 2 days and fit perfectly, and works just as well as the OEM. Connector materials were the same quality, and size/specs were all the same…

JUST WHAT I NEEDED. I YOU TUBE THIS AND IT SAID YOU SHOULD REPLACE THIS EVERY 5/7 YEARS. I CALLED 3 HEATING SERVICES AND THEY ALL TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW FURNACE. INSTEAD OF ASKING WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CHANGED THE GAS IGNITER. NEW FURNACE $11,000.00 GAS IGNITER PENNIES COMPARED TO $11,000.00 THESE HEATING COMPANY'S NEED TO BE A SHAME OF THEM SELVES, WHAT A RIP OFF.

Damaged on Arrival best in my review

Product was damaged on arrival. did not make time to return it on time. and somehow could not find it when I finally did make time. still have the item. a liability to me.

Works as expected. - my new review

Saves me a big headache in the middle of winter when the ignitor failed. Ebay's prompt delivery allows the replacement to be installed before the next cold air hits.

Failed after 2 weeks

I ordered this part in winter 2021 and it lasted about a year. I figured maybe we accidentally touched it when installing. I ordered a second time, installed it very carefully, and the part failed after a couple weeks. All other parts on the furnace check out fine.

This is exactly the part my furnace needed to get going again during the Atlanta cold snap of 2022. It took less than 5 minutes to install.

Ebay to the rescue - when you gas furnace fails on a Sunday morning and all the HVAC shops closed

Part worked as expected and replaced the Gas Furnace Igniter on my York when it failed on a Sunday morning. Ebay delivered within 8h and the install took less than 10min.

  • Easy to install. No new wiring needed, clip fit the wiring on my heater.

  • Should only be installed by a trained professional, further increasing the cost of the already expensive unit

I would not recommend this product

Lasted a few days or ignites, not good, went to appliance parts store that's deals with replacement parts. The new Igniter is still working.
