This compact device is a marvel of miniaturization, designed to convert cassettes to MP3 files. After spending many hours learning how to use it, my own experience is that miniaturization has become overused to the point where it has become difficult to use. My biggest concern is handling the cartridges themselves. It's difficult to tell the direction of the tape because the tape changes direction in different ways. Several times I accidentally pressed a button that reversed the playback direction, which was difficult to fix. In addition, the tape speed varied greatly, which distorted the voices and made the music almost incomprehensible. hit the transport mechanism and almost destroyed the tape itself. If you need to convert cassettes to MP3 files and need high fidelity, this might not be the best choice. There are services that perform such transports on larger and more stable devices. If fidelity is not critical, the device works quite well. As a final caveat, there are multiple control buttons on the front of the device that control playback, recording, and other functions. It is almost impossible to read the characters on these keys. I put a dab of white nail polish on the REGISTER button so I can find it easily.
