The case is solid with a shell on the outside and a cushion on the inside, my two drives fit comfortably in matching cases. will never get to the real disk. If I said anything at all, I was surprised when I opened the box from the post office. The case is LARGE, the images illustrating the product on this page do NOT represent the actual size of this case. I won't be returning it, it's not that important to me, it'll occupy a decent spot in my portfolio, especially considering I have two hard drives and two cases, but still within reasonable limits. There is nothing wrong in the description of the product, but I am not a technical visionary to project the size of the product into the mental image of the projected space it occupies, so that the image makes a living reference to its size by placing the case next to it a well-known product like a can or a pen, should help other buyers (I might even download it myself now!). The compromise for a potentially small case is the REALLY secure case it makes for drives. I could just get a case but it would never absorb shock like this thing. Think of this case as one of those briefcases that professional killers carry their guns in, it has a soft padding on the inside, a hard shell on the outside and plenty of room for a good measure. I have a couple of standard sized portable hard drives (Toshiba Canvio and Buffalo Ministation) and there is still room inside the case for a flash drive.
