Review on Rain-X 5079281-2 Latitude 2-IN-1 Water Repellency Wiper Blades Review by Bruce Marable

Not long lasting - wiper

I was a little skeptical about these wiper blades when I purchased and installed Latitude 2-n-1 blades in February 2017. Give it a try because I love the idea of putting Rain-X on a windshield wiper blade. I cleaned the windshield and also applied Rain-X to half of the windshield during installation. On the first day of using the wiper blades, the side of the Rain-X worked as expected, clean, water pooled and drained off the windshield. On the other side, the water collected little, but I figured the leaves would have to transfer their internal composition to the windshield to function fully. It's been 2 weeks and the Rain-X I applied is worn out and I no longer have water droplets on my windshield. Despite the fact that the Rain-X was short-lived, I wasn't surprised that the wiper blades didn't drain water as advertised, but I was confident. Since this was my first experience with Rain-X wiper blades, I wondered how long they would last. . When it rained in October and November, I noticed slight streaks: If I spray windshield washer fluid on the windshield or run a cloth over the wiper blade to clean it, the streaks disappear for about a week. Come January 2018 and the stripes will be back with a vengeance. Windscreen washer fluid and brush cleaning did not solve the streaking problem. I do not recommend buying Rain-X wiper blades if you live in an area that gets a lot of rain.
