The product has two modes. The first consists of a brute force attack. First remove as many planarians as possible with a net and siphon. Then remove all corals, fish and invertebrates. If you can pack smaller pieces of live rock into a suitable container, treat them separately by submerging them in FE-dosed water. Put the first dose in the aquarium. Planaria will start dying immediately, so try to catch as many as you can. Red planarians release the toxin when they die, so it's important to keep your protein skimmer running and have access to activated charcoal. If planarians are still present after 30 minutes, give a second dose. Wait as long as possible to add fish and coral. If you can still smell the telltale odor of dead planarians, then it's too early. The second way is maintenance. Don't think that brute force will kill every last red worm. Keep an eye on a small number of planarians over the next few weeks. Then dose in the same amount, but do not remove any fish or corals, as the toxin levels are harmless. A second maintenance dose is sometimes required about a month later.
