I bought these for my external Christmas lights I wanted don't physically turn them off at night. This thing does just that - click on the controls to turn them on and off around the house. I've never had any problems with this feature. However, in order to be able to fully use the product as described, with the timer function, I could not get it to work at all. I've read other reviews on this product that suggest you need to reset it when using the remote and I've tried this to no avail. In principle, a timer function would be great, but I bought it for the remote control, which works great. I can't say the same about the timer function as it never worked for me. But it's cheap, so what do you expect?
