Received this just before Christmas and used it for the first time this weekend. I baked ravioli and tortellini. I was happy to use the new baking pan along with my old Pyrex backup pan. I used this dish for tortellini. Both bowls were filled with sauce and cooked pasta, topped with mozzarella at room temperature and placed in the oven uncovered to heat/melt the cheese. The dishes had not been in place for ten minutes when we heard a loud hum and saw steam coming from the oven. When we opened the oven we found that this bowl had exploded and shards of glass and baked tortellini had spilled all over the oven from top to bottom, and the broken glass had fallen into another Pyrex bowl (which was fine, btw). My other Pyrex pastry is over twenty years old and has been used weekly to make a variety of dishes without incident. I don't think it was heat stroke. If I was wrong then the other Pyrex tank must have suffered as well. I called World Kitchen and they sent me a replacement thinking the dish was defective.
