Review on Radio Baofeng BF-R5 Black by Mateusz Sztrekier ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, best quality.

The radio station is weird in general. You won't typically encounter a serious walkie-talkie with such small proportions. The cost is also pretty reasonable, maybe around $900.950. A well deserving upgrade from the "old lady" BF-888s! You can check out this radio's range test (in urban settings) at youtube.com/watch?v=6t9A92BLGHU. Pros: It is about the same size as a cell phone, and it is equally flat and light. Charger BL-3. For such a "baby," the declared range is up to 10 km; nothing is to be taken lightly. supports even more than LPD and PMR. The convenience of portable recharging from a power bank while in the field is increased by the USB charging port. A child will figure it out if there are only a few control buttons. typical Baofeng/Kenwood cable is programmable. Cons: The plastic cover that seals the battery compartment can break, or more specifically, its latches. Sooner or later, the rubber plugs will come loose. The radio cannot be programmed using the USB port. Even if you are an expert, it will take several hours to set up highly sketchy programming tools. Nevertheless, you can program it using a ready-made file that is described in the video (links to the software and to the file for quick programming of PMR / LPD channels are in the description of the video below): youtube.com/watch?v=F7M5GJfGmoE.
