So I've replaced them before and less than a year later I'm having the same problem. I expect these ceramic tips will last for many years. Be sure to solder the connections and use heat shrink tubing to keep the connections watertight. The use of electro-lubricant in the connectors blocks moisture ingress and helps prevent corrosion.
