Review on KEF LSX Wireless Music System (White by Ningyen Su ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but it was a pleasant surprise.

For a very long time I chose the appropriate format for streaming from an iPhone - a poppy without wires via air play 2, chose this model, bribed the design - format (without an amplifier - as a separate unit). In general, for a wireless format, streaming music from an iPhone is a good option, they sound good in any case! and it suits me, but the terrible squeak is not very good) no high-fi, well, okay, but without additional blocks, they take up a minimum of space, beautiful, for the room. 20 square meters is more than enough! drew attention to bass in different ways, depending on which side of the plug to connect to the outlet, I have a connection with grounding, I tried it without it - I didn’t notice the difference. How to make them sound as cool via AirPlay from a Macbook as from an Iphone ?)) neither Apple nor Kef gave such information.

Pros
  • Good sound quality, not perfect and not HI FI, probably better than even very good Compo speakers but they don’t have sound at 89 thousand) I bought them for 68 and the sound is not good for this money, it’s good but they cost about 50 thousand :) Loud, powerful enough bass, when connected via optics to a TV set, a sub is NOT needed) Beautiful - minimalism. Stream from any app via AirPlay. Solid brand.
Cons
  • The main drawback is the high-frequency squeak from the power supply of the main speaker, the speakers are at a distance of three meters from me in the TV cabinet and you can hear it, several people also mentioned it on Amazon, I thought it would bypass me, but no) There is no proprietary application on the Mac, they are not detected in the airplay window on the Mac, you have to select Kef from the sound sources, but in this way if you look at the quality in the midi settings, it writes 16 bit 44 100 Hz (despite the fact that from the built-in speakers, the poppy shows 24 bits), and the quality is noticeably audible, which is worse than from an iPhone (on Kef's proprietary software). It’s not clear how they didn’t finish the software on the poppy, it’s strange that they didn’t think that people from the poppy would also stream music to them. Small clicks are heard during playback. Sound quality is not worth the money Price
