. Really great that you can put the gauge in and then take it out and read the depth. The large, flat surface fits snugly over the tire, and the metal tip tucks between the treads. When you pull it out, just twist it to see which number fits best (in 32 inches). I've had uneven tire wear in the past and with this tool it will be fairly easy to track the wear pattern.
