The French Press was very clean, well made of thick, double-layered stainless steel. Stainless steel screens remove most of the grist down to the finest dust, leaving only a small amount of dirt at the bottom of the mug. Everything works clearly and as described in the instructions. The long handle spoon is very good, and the insulated top is well constructed to prevent dirt from entering. If the coffee is preheated, it stays hot for a long time. The box is very beautiful, so it will be a great gift. My only issue is the markings on the inside of the pan which only appear to be printed on. I'm not sure about the durability. In fact, you can see from the photo that they wear out after about 5 uses. I would stamp the measurements inside. The delivery was very quick. For those who have trouble with the stainless steel strainer rubbing against the inside rim of the pot, get a glass pan. Then you don't have the "nails in the board" effect (that's REALLY not that bad, by the way). But be prepared to replace that glass carafe over and over again.
