The true story I've been looking for a large white ceramic coaster for months. I've searched most major retailers and just couldn't find what I wanted. They were either too small, too expensive, or had some stupid words printed on the side (I don't need my dish bin to say "dishes", thanks?). I was desperate and bought a big white cylindrical flowerpot instead, but it ended up being complete crap and I was furious. So I was thrilled when this guy showed up. He is perfect. I call him Mr. Darcy because he's so perfect. In any case. Mr. Darcy is made of dense ceramic with a glossy white glaze. He looks very good. There are zero faults with this pot and believe me I checked it out. The rim elegantly tapers towards the mouth and in size this canister strikes a great balance of strength and lightness. As you can see from my photo, Mr. Darcy is tall. My many kitchen utensils hardly look over the sides. Mr Darcy keeps everything inside. There's room for so much more, which is great because you can never have too many spatulas. Never. Darcy doesn't fall over. He doesn't even allow the possibility of ever tipping over. This is a very stable canister. The only slight downside is that its underside, while properly finished, is capable of rubbing down a thin countertop if you drag it over it, so you might want to add some felt bumpers to the underside if you plan to move it. Mister . Darcy's polished exterior makes it easy to keep him clean and of course he always insists on being spotless. And he doesn't dance.
